LA BOHÈME
In 2018, Julian Kim returned to Teatro La Fenice to perform the role of Marcello in La bohème, once again in Francesco Micheli’s visually striking production. Originally scheduled to be conducted by Myung-Whun Chung, the production saw Stefano Ranzani and Francesco Lanzillotta take the podium following Chung’s unexpected withdrawal due to a car accident. Julian Kim was noted for both the warmth of his timbre and his expressive stage presence, delivering a Marcello that was vocally resonant and dramatically vivid.
