La Bohème was staged at the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing as part of the 20th anniversary of Korea-China diplomatic relations. Julian Kim reprised his role as Schaunard in the production. The performance was broadcast on the Korean TV station KBS1. Directed by Italian stage director Marco Gandini, the production featured the China National Opera House Orchestra, conducted by Myung-Whun Chung, with Korean opera singers in the cast.
